One of the things that seems to happen when you run a weather site is a lot of drama.
FAKE Meteorologist Kevin Martin
During Hurricane Irene I wrote an article on the need to be careful of a certain fake meteorologist named Kevin Martin. Since that time Kevin and his friend Brian Martin have been spamming our facebook pages, providing false reviews for an application I wrote on facebook to warn people of severe weather claiming it spreads viruses (to the point that Facebook just disabled reviews on my application) and sends me threatening messages via Facebook. This message from Brian Martin is pretty damn funny if you ask me as his own brother issues his own watches and warnings…. my application does not issue watches and warnings – just forwards ones by the National Weather Service.
Issuing Weather Warnings like this is illegal, also exploitation of natural disasters for profit is illegal as well on this degree. Remove the app immediately.

Kevin Martin, along with Brian Martin have also been going around facebook with their friends creating pages identical to my real name as well as my wifes name calling her a retard, posting pictures of STD ridden people claiming its us on weather related pages… frankly at this point my wife and I are very scared of him. She continues to support me in creating high quality weather related content, but my family comes first. We would appreciate some feedback from our readers on how we should proceed with this…. we have been told by Brian Martin that if we do not take down our Facebook page and website the harassment will continue.
Some Things on Fake Meteorologist Kevin Martin to Consider:
- He has made threatening videos of National Weather Service buildings exploding proof
- He has harassed Dr Greg Forbes from The Weather Channel
- The National Weather Service has expressed concerns about him as well as various others in the weather community
- He has threatened Google with physical violence
- He has a history of filing false DMCA Notices
- His brother Brian Martin is a not a charming individual as well

Awww. I’ve been cyberbullied before-and also had people claim to be me. What I did is I basically confronted them. I’d issue a lawsuit if I were you.

Blocking & reporting to FB are a definite. It may be wise to let the police know too. Be safe.
Facebook has an anti-harassment and anti-bullying reporting page somewhere here–their policy is zero tolerance for that sort of behavior and it can get these two banned. Contact Facebook and provide them with a complaint and evidence to their activities and keep doing that until they get themselves banned, blocked, and sued by Facebook as well. You might want to report them to the police and provide them this evidence as well since they have decided to involve harassment, defamation, and threats to your family. Crazies like this belong in jail.
The police have been involved… he also faked a hacking attack from anonymous on his page and blamed me for it. Sadly while they can issue a warrant – the chance of them extraditing from CA to MI is about the chance of him quiting this crap

What is this guy 12? I’ve never even heard of weatherman drama haha. That’s ridiculous. Why would he be so angry at u or the fact u have a weather page? Who the hell cares, quite frankly!! Do this: print out every threat + bring it to the police department + have them get his phone number and call him with a warning. If he doesn’t stop, press charges. Also report him to FB and block him from seeing any of ur pages. Anything u contribute to it, like for instance if he sees this post, will only create more drama for you.

we have been in contact with facebook developer relations about the false reviews… they are investigating him, but facebook moves slowly
Dont bother contacting facebook, unless you want to talk to a computer.. Contact the FBI and the District Attorneys office. Police have Little To No power over internet crimes due to jurisdiction issues and limited resourses..
Definitely step it up then to the FBI and DA’s office for your state.
If the Feds and DA office find a crime is being committed, they have the power to monitor his internet actions and everything he does.

Drama…drama… High school Drama! No one REALLY knows WHO is really at the fingertips of people in the social network world. It could be someone lonely wanting to be the centre of attention. They spend their whole day staring at their monitor, creating websites etc in hope of catching someones attention. Chain smoking with a caffiene iv lol. You want to know if its gonna rain or snow and how much? Check with the weather network etc. The same info is there. Actually the exact same info is there. Minus the drama!

during the elections in the USA there was a lot of this kind of thing going on ..on CNN ireports.. it got extremely bad. The FBI got involved so did a few lawyers for the person. It can really get creepy..have to make sure to copy everything they are doing then give it all to the authorities.. People think internet is priviate?? lol nope.. they can watch everyone and everything that goes on..even your priviate emails.. so as long as the authorities have been informed they will watch these fools and catch them…
