Alexandria Louisiana Emergency Shelter Opening

The American Red Cross Alexandria Louisiana  shelter has begun operations to open.  As this post is being typed the American Red Cross are putting cots on the floor right now and other shelters are beginning to open closer to the evacuation areas.  The Govenor Louisiana has issued a state of emergency and is calling for a voluntary evacuations of the 15 parishes under a Hurricane Watch.

The Governor of Louisiana is anticipating more mandatory evacuations no later then Monday morning.

The list of Parishes should voluntarily evacuate if their in low lying areas or below the inter coastal.
